State Suggestion Program restarts in Arizona

by Duncan

Arizona, a state that has laid off 1000s of staff in a bid to combat budget deficits during recent years has restarted it's Employee Suggestions Program in a bid to cut costs.

The state previously had a suggestion program but it was scrapped after almost 25 years of use, after being deemed 'ineffective'. This decision has been reversed, partially due to the city of Phoenix's success with their employee ideas program see example here: and also here (excerpt from Fox News report:

"Janice Jacobo, an operations superintendent at the Phoenix airport, had a suggestion about painting all buses the same color, which would reduce the number of spare buses needed by 60 percent."

Good on you Arizona for taking this brave step!

"We wanted an online suggestion box that's easy to run and Vetter fits the bill"
