I (Duncan here) am putting together a blog post with tips for getting more ideas from your team. Initial research has uncovered a few techniques, but I’d love to here your suggestions. Here’s what I’ve got so far:
• Point out that you’d like to get more ideas, actually verbally say it or mention it in an email. Sometimes staff members just don’t know that Ideas are welcome.
• Praise publicly ideas that have been offered up.
• Offer your own idea and look for staff feedback. Staff suggestion schemes are for managers too you know!
