What waste of money by the University of of Connecticut! Employee ideas not good enough huh? They really should have just asked their employees for ideas, as we all know employee creativity has so much potential. How engaged will employees feel knowing that outsiders were needed to figure this out, that they are not trusted to come up with the solutions themselves?
I have to say I disagree with Ms. Herbst’s view:
"The firm McKinsey & Co. was paid $3.9 million to suggest ways to cut costs and boost income as the school's state subsidies drop. Officials said the cost can be recouped this year by following some of the suggestions.University President Susan Herbst said she was impressed by the report. She said it gave staff more ideas than they could have come up with on their own."
